Chiropractic Care for Vertigo Relief | Chiropractor for Vertigo in Belmar, NJ
Hi everybody, Dr. Jodi Kinney from Kinney Chiropractic. Today I want to talk to you a little bit about a condition we see often in my practice called vertigo.
Cervicogenic Vertigo From Subluxation
Vertigo can come from a couple different causes. One of the main ones, though that I see is coming from the cervical spine are what we call cervicogenic. Vertigo. So the cervical spine is the very top spine of the neck, the seven bones at the very top of the neck, and the nerves that exit out of these bones from the top of the neck, especially the upper cervical spine are the ones that go to the head and the eyes and the nose, the sinuses, the inner ear. A lot of the portions that control things like dizziness and vertigo. One of the main things I see is what’s called a subluxation. So, in between every one of those bones, like I said, as a nerve, if the spine happens to shift even the littlest bit out of alignment, it could cause the vertebrae to get stuck and locked in that abnormal positioning, pinching or putting abnormal pressure on the nerves at the top of the neck. The nerves, the cervical ganglion right here at the top of the neck, are the ones that go to the eyes and the sinuses, the glands in the face, the throat and the inner ear. So if there’s a pinch or pressure on that nerve, what we call a subluxation. That’s not going to allow for healthy nerve supply. And you can suffer things like dizziness, vertigo, maybe blurred vision. Nausea is an often a common cause or condition that we see when with vertigo.
We Provide Chiropractic Adjustments to Reduce Your Vertigo Symptoms
And the simple treatment in chiropractic is what we call the adjustment. So making sure that we move those spinal bones back to normal alignment, unlocking the stuck joint helping to take pressure and pinching off of the nerves reestablishes that healthy nerve supply and that healthy nerve supply to all the upper cervical areas that feed the head, the neck, the ears, the eyes, and help with things like vertigo. So if you struggle with vertigo, often it comes from the neck come in and get your spine checked would take very specific X rays to identify where exactly your subluxations are, so we can get them corrected immediately and help get you out of pain and discomfort and the misery of vertigo.
Alright, well I hope that helps out and I hope I get to see you guys real soon. Have a great day!
