Effective Nerve Pain Treatment in Belmar, NJ

Hi everybody, Dr. Jodi Kinney her at Kinney Chiropractic. Today we’re going to talk about nerve pain that goes down into the legs, often known as sciatica.

Radicular Nerve Pain

Sometimes people call it “Radicular Pain”, but basically what it is, is when there’s a misalignment or a pinching pressure on the nerves and the lower back. That affects the nerve supply that goes into the back and into the hips, then all the way down the legs. Sometimes, this even creates pain numbness or tingling into the toes. So I’m going to show you a really effective adjustment that we do a treatment called Flexion Distraction. This is probably our most effective way to help “unpinch” the nerves in that the lower back and help to create strong healthy nerves. So we have very specific tables called is called Auto Flexion Distraction table. What these tables do is they actually bend at the waist. So I’m going to show you how that works.

The Auto Flexion Table & Stretching

With decompression, this auto Flexion Distraction, this helps to open up those joints and the discs to help create a healthy strong nerve supply down into the legs. So whenever we have sciatica or nerve pain patients, even leg nerve pain patients, we do this technique Flexion Distraction. Then I’m going to support these adjustments with a couple quick stretches. Okay, so I’ll see you turn over please on your back. Sometimes the muscles in the glutes in the back can be really tight. And so we always want to stretch those those legs out. So the hamstrings can be really tight, and so I also support that with a little glute stretch. That just helps take any of the additional tension and tightness in those in those glute muscles away from the patient. Doing it the other way, straight leg. So you always want to breathe into the structures so that you get nice oxygenation of those muscles. And then nice glute stretch on either side. Same thing, really loosen up any strapping or tight muscles in the hips or the roots with a little hip adjustment and that’s how we do it.

So if you have nerve pain, sciatic pain, or any pain into your legs come, into Kinney Chiropractic so that we can help alleviate all of that!
