Chiropractic Adjustment for Sinus Relief | Chiropractor for Allergies in Belmar, NJ
Hello, everyone. Dr. Jodi Kinney here. Today, I want to continue my series on sinus issues, sinus pressure, and how chiropractic techniques can help open up and alleviate sinus congestion, headaches, and infections. The nerve pathways from the top of the neck are crucial for the sinuses, head, nose, eyes, ears, and throat. When there’s a misalignment or subluxation in this area, it can pinch the nerves, disrupting healthy nerve supply and affecting sinus drainage, potentially leading to infections and fluid buildup in the ears.
How We Adjust Our Patients
Now, I have my patient Sue here, who has been dealing with sinus issues. To address this, we start with some muscle work, including the use of topical essential oils like Breathe, as discussed in a previous video. Now, I’m going to demonstrate the chiropractic adjustment to her upper neck, where the irritated nerves are typically associated with misalignments and subluxations—specifically, at the C1, C2, and C3 vertebrae at the very top of the neck. Let’s proceed with the adjustment. Here we go, a little pressure. Good. Now, we’ll go back the other way, applying gentle movement and pressure. Relax. Nice. Good job. Perfect. The process is simple yet effective. By reestablishing a healthy nerve supply, we open up these nerve pathways, providing relief to the sinuses. Many of my patients experience immediate relief, noticing improved drainage and reduced congestion.
