Hi everybody. Dr. Kinney here, your chiropractor for low back pain in Belmar, NJ.
Today, what I want to show you, is two essential adjustments that we do here at Kinney Chiropractic for low back pain.
So, the very first thing, this is my patient Chrissy, she’s going to be lying face down on the table.
We’re going to start with assessing, to see what sides she’s out of alignment on, so that we know where to focus.
So her leg length is a little short on that left side. That’s my chiropractic cue that I need to kind of focus on this left, lower back.
So initially what we’re going to do is we’re going to palpate.

I want to feel some of that soft tissue, see where it may be a little bit more unbalanced, see where there might be subluxations or fixations in the spine where it might be a little out of alignment.
And then we have these really specialized tables that have what are called drops on them.
So this table drops at the bottom, the pelvic or the lower back level, it also drops here in the middle, in like the lumbar thoracic level.
So this helps use the patient’s own body weight with like gravity, in order to draw and kind of move some of the joints around.
So it’s a real high velocity but low force kind of technique that we use here.
So I’m going to lift this up and then drop in Christie’s pelvis and lower back to help, correct alignment and motion and mobility in the spine and also help take pressure off nerves.

Good. Now the next technique I’m going to do is called a diversified side posture adjustment.
So Chrissy, if you would, would you please face me lying on your side?
So she’s going to bend her leg up and I’m going to palpate again where I need to adjust.
And I’m literally going to put a little force in here.
You may hear a little small pop and this is going to actually move her spinal joints. That was great. Come on up.
So those are the two most important adjustments for the lower back.
That’s what helps get rid of all the problems. Most of the problems anyway. Get motion in there.
Take pressure off the nerves and patients love it.
They actually feel a whole lot better.
Yes I do! All right. Great.
Thanks so much. We’ll see you again real soon.
